Numbering of nodes has a definite influence on the bandwidth of the coefficient matrix associated with the mesh. The smaller the bandwidth the less storage and amount of computation required. The method used, for this purpose, is nodes renumbering by the RCM (Reverse Cuthill-McKee) method. With this method the formed matrix will be sparse and regularly banded, so that it can be solved economically.
