Road pavement verifications

 

In general, the verifications to be performed on a road pavement include all those verifications designed to ensure that the pavement itself is adequate to withstand the stresses transmitted to it from its surroundings. The RPD software performs the following types of verifications:

 

- Adequacy verifications using the empirical method (proposed by AASHTO);

- Adequacy verifications using the rational method (based on maximum deflection verification).

 

The above two methods are profoundly different from the theoretical point of view.
