WMinipile

Minipile characteristics window.

This is tabbed window (geometric model) to enable minipile characteristics to be recorded. The following tabs are available. Foundation is open as default:

Foundation: Define the foundation structure that the minipile(s) will support.

Minipile: Define the characteristics of the individual minipiles, its component material and parameters required to arrive at the limit load.

Pos. (position): Define the arrangement of the minipile(s).

Armature: Defines the dimensions of steel rod(s) reinforcing the individual minipiles.

Loads: Defines the loads acting on the foundation by the overlying structure. These loads resolve into vertical, horizontal forces and a moment:

Vertical force (Kg): Vertical force tramitted to the foundation. This force acts primarily upon the outer minipiles

Horizontal force (Kg): Horizontal force tramitted to the foundation. This force acts primarily upon the inner inclined minipiles.

Moment (Kg/m):  Moment tramitted to the foundation. This force acts primarily upon the inner inclined minipiles

Pile head restraint: Select from drop down list (Free, Slot, Hinge).

Once forces acting on the foundations are declared, the program distributes these on the single minipiles and displays the results in the central grid. Compressions as +ve; Extractions -ve. Moment acting clockwise are +ve.

This automatic distribution may be altered by the user at will and forces may be declared acting at points along the minipiles.

The user undertaking such alterations is warned that no feasability control is effected and the changes inserted are taken at face value.
